The australia.gov.au website is your connection with government in Australia. It links to information and services on around 800 Australian Government websites as well as selected state and territory resources. Australia.gov.au also searches over three million government web pages.

AMES Adult Multicultural Education Services (AMES) is Australia's largest provider of specialist, multicultural language, employment  and settlement services. With the assistance of Government contracts, AMES successfully educates and services almost 50,000 people every year.   PSG students requiring language assistance are refered to AMES

Australian Centre
for Industrial Relations Research and Training
(ACIRRT)

ACIRRT is an independent, multi-disciplinary organisation that monitors and analyses the changing nature of work. It helps others to understand current workplace issues and the evolving labour market in Australia

Australian Council for Private Education & Training (ACPET) PSG Australia is a member of this organisation. The aim of ACPET is to enhance the diversity of education and training throughout Australia via independent enterprise and so provide a choice of product and outcome for consumers. Private colleges, education institutes, industry training consultants, education agents, and education product developers are among the many members of ACPET.

Australian Qualifications Framework
(AQF)

AQF is a unified system of 12 national qualifications in schools, vocational education and training (TAFEs and private providers) and the higher education sector.

AusLIST

The Australian list of Institutions and Courses in Other Countries.  AusLIST is a directory of Australian transnational education (TNE) and training providers and the courses they deliver offshore which will:

  • Provide a clear statement of commitment to quality education delivery by Australian TNE providers
  • Enable prospective students, their families, overseas governments and other stakeholders to make informed decisions about the nature and quality of Australian TNE and
  • Market your offshore education offerings to attract transnational students.

Commonwealth Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs
(DETYA)

DETYA is the source for Commonwealth government information on training and post-compulsory education.

DeLiberations on Teaching
and Learning in Higher Education

DeLiberations offers general and specific learning and teaching resources, and research.

Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR) The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) was created on 3 December 2007, bringing together elements of the former Departments of Education, Science and Training, Employment and Workplace Relations and the Youth and Early Childhood functions from the Department of Family, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
Department of Education, Science & Training (DEST) DEST provides national leadership and works in collaboration with the States and Territories, industry, other agencies and the community in support of the Government’s objectives. We develop and implement policies to ensure the continuing relevance of education, science and training to contemporary needs and the growing requirement for lifelong learning. We also ensure high quality and value for money in delivering Government funded programmes.

Education Network of Australia (EdNA)

EdNA has links to thousands of educational resources in Australia and overseas.It is funded by the state/territory and national governments and it aims to foster collaboration and communication amongst the education sectors through communication links and information sharing. EdNA plays an essential role in progressing IT in education and training in Australia.

European Council of Internation Schools

The Council provides links to a variety of plans, planning models and reference material in relation to technology planning.

Ezine Articles A comprehenisve site with articles on every subject imaginable.  The site containes several articles published by PSG Australia

Australian Flexible Learning Framework

The 2005 Australian Flexible Learning Framework is a national initiative to support the uptake of e-learning within the vocational education and training system. It is a AUD$15million strategy collaboratively funded by the Australian Government and all States and Territories.

Learning Circuits

Learning Circuits is an online magazine examining new technologies and how they are being applied for workplace learning.

National Centre
for Vocational Education Research

NCVER is Australia's principal research and evaluation organisation for the vocational and education training sector.

National Council for
Open Distance Learning

The National Council provides resources for developing flexible learning packages.

National VET Portal

The national VET Portal is a one-stop site for all issues relating to vocational study, apprenticeships, training packages etc.

National Training Service Information
(NTIS)

NTIS is a database on vocational education and training in Australia. It contains detailed information on courses, qualifications, training packages, competency standards and training organisations.

Naukri India's largest online job advertiser.  PSG Australia uses Naukri for its situations vacant in India
O*Net Online The O*NET system serves as the USA's primary source of occupational information, providing comprehensive information on key attributes and characteristics of workers and occupations. The O*NET database houses this data and O*NET OnLine provides easy access to that information.  It provides excellent occupational information that is relevant to Australia

Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE)

OTTE links to a significant range of educational resources. It is the source for Victorian Government information on post compulsory education, training and employment.

Open Learning Agency

The Open Learning Agency provides resources on the development of instructional materials, and the educational use of technology.

Productivity Places Program

As part of its Skilling Australia for the future initiative, the government recognises the importance of nationally endorsed training in assisting job seekers to acquire skills and gain lasting employment and assisting existing workers to update or upgrade their skills.

The government has allocated 450,000 training places over four years to ensure that Australians develop the skills that industry needs. The training places will be delivered in an industry-driven system, ensuring that training is more responsive to the needs of enterprises and individuals.  The training places will be available from 1 April 2008.

Of the total training places, 175,000 will be allocated to job seekers. More information will be provided on the arrangements for Productivity Places for existing workers and apprentices in the near future.

The training starts in April, with 20,000 training places being allocated for job seekers.  Training for job seekers during this stage will be at the Certificate II and III levels.

Victorian Adult, Community
and Further Education Board
(ACFEB)

ACFEB is responsible for the Adult and Community Education (ACE) sector in Victoria and includes a network of over 460 learning centres and neighbourhood houses run by locally elected committees of management.

(WBTIC)

WBTIC is a resource for those developing and delivering web-based training, online learning, or distance education. Features include WBT primer, surveys, discussion forums, and resource links.

WISE Employment

W.I.S.E. provides transitional, vocational and employment services to people who are disadvantaged, and quality employment solutions to business.

This is a federal government site that provides links with brief descriptions on international organisations, job search sites, professional bodies relating to particular occupations and employment programs.

Developed specifically for the Australian market, this job search site has a section called the "Career Forum" which includes tools, links and articles to assist with chosing a new or different career.

mycareer.com.au
This part of mycareer.com.au is dedicated to people looking to change their careers and provides information in a step by step manner including tips on giving notice and negotiating good terms in your new job.

seek.com.au
A well developed component of the "Seek" website, this careers section privides information on job search strategies, choosing and changing careers, career development and a range of other resources.

 

Employment Programs

Information on government programs is designed to assist jobseekers to find work.

Employment Division
Office of Employment, Training and Tertiary Education.

The Employment Division provides specialist employment programs and services. Whether you are an employee, employer, industry, community organisation or any Victorian seeking employment, the Employment Division is available to support you. They also provide advice to businesses starting up or relocating to Victoria.

Community Business Employment (CBE) program
Working with community and private organisations across Victoria, the Community Business Employment (CBE) program delivers employment assistance measures for disadvantaged unemployed people.

Skilled Migration
The Skilled Migration service links new migrants to businesses in Victoria.

Overseas Qualifications Assessment
If you have recently arrived in Victoria, the Overseas Qualifications Unit can assess your professional qualifications, free of charge.

Employment Opportunities
Employment Division provides services for unemployed Victorians through its Community Business Employment program and other initiatives.

Go for IT!
Go for IT! is a pilot program aimed at assisting young people to gain employment through IT, communications or multimedia traineeships.

Greencorps
Green Corps - Young Australians for the Environment - is an environment initiative of the Commonwealth Government. The Green Corps program is managed by the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers (ATCV) on behalf of the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs and Environment Australia.

Job pathways program
The Jobs Pathway Programme (JPP) assists young people in making the transition from school to work.

Job placement employment and training
